The City of Waterloo Planning and Zoning Department is requesting proposals for Asbestos Abatement Services for Contract AB-2026-06-01P. This will include asbestos abatement of one City property: 1442 Sycamore Street.

Proposals are due (via mail, or hand-delivery) received in a sealed envelope in the City Clerk’s Office, Waterloo City Hall, 715 Mulberry Street, Waterloo, Iowa 50703 by Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. Bids will be opened on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. on the second floor Council Chambers and will be streamed live on the City of Waterloo’s YouTube Channel. The Waterloo City Council will conduct a public hearing on the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimate of cost for the project at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2026 in the Harold E. Getty Council Chambers in City Hall, 715 Mulberry Street.
There will be a mandatory walk through on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Bidders that do not have a representative in attendance at this walk through are NOT eligible to bid on this contract. It is expected that the walk through will take a significant amount of time. A lunch break is planned at noon with the walk through continuing at 1:00 p.m.
