The City of Waterloo Planning and Zoning Department is requesting proposals for Asbestos Abatement Services for Contract AB-2026-07-01P. This will include asbestos abatement of one City property: 70 Sycamore Street. The work is being partially funded by an EPA Brownfields Multipurpose Grant secured by the City in 2024.

Proposals are due (via mail, or hand-delivery) received in a sealed envelope in the City Clerk’s Office, Waterloo City Hall, 715 Mulberry Street, Waterloo, Iowa 50703 by Thursday, July 23, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. Bids will be opened on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. on the second floor Council Chambers and will be streamed live on the City of Waterloo’s YouTube Channel. The Waterloo City Council will conduct a public hearing on the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimate of cost for the project at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026 in the Harold E. Getty Council Chambers in City Hall, 715 Mulberry Street.
There will be a mandatory walk-through on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Bidders that do not have a representative in attendance at this walk-through are NOT eligible to bid on this contract.
