Work Progresses on Former Grand Hotel
Construction of a new 4-story condo building on the former Grand Hotel site continues. The project will feature 68 apartments (28 one-bedroom and 40 two-bedroom units) with granite/quartz counter tops, Nest thermostats, high-efficiency appliances, and balconies. Brownfields Project Awarded $3 Million
Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) officials awarded the Grand Crossings project $3 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds in January 2015. The money is designed to provide affordable housing to flood damaged communities in Iowa. The four-story building will include 68 units located at the corner of Jefferson Street and Westfield Avenue on the former Grand Hotel site.
