The $4.9 million Phelps Youth Pavilion expansion to the Waterloo Center for the Arts includes 39,000 square-foot of space. The addition will host the Junior Art Gallery, moving it out of the current basement location and doubling their current space. The Phelps Youth Pavilion will include a digital arts lab, a new ceramics studio, increased storage for the permanent art collection, and improved receiving and preparation areas that will allow the Center to secure loans of high quality art from other museums across the nation.

Project Success Story

The addition to the Waterloo Center of Arts allows local youth to display their works to a public audience in a larger area. Extra space also provides for the creation of a digital arts-lab for hands-on activities to explore the arts and develop lifelong skills. The project also enhances the city’s art and culture by creating new educational opportunities for area youth.
