The City will have a booth at the Waterloo Urban Farmers Market held on Wednesday, September 28 in conjunction with the Iowa League of Cities conference.  The event will offer interested citizens an opportunity to learn more about its brownfields program and offer critical feedback on future initiatives.  The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded the community $2.95 million in grants since 2000.  These funds have leveraged over $70 million in public/private investment and cleared more than 62 acres for redevelopment.  Representatives from the City’s environmental consultant will be available to answer questions.  Visit www.thenewwaterloo.com for more information on the community’s brownfields program.
